I’m trying to sell a car here. Preferably so it’s appreciated and driven. Don’t have time to deal with your “Oh I’m buying this for my son. Give me your Paypal address so I can pay you right away. Don’t worry, my shipping agent will be coming to pick it up.” Yeah, no. Cash only. Now you and your shipping agent can go take the next flight to Al-Raqqa. Or fall into a wood chipper. Doesn’t bother me either way.
Phew. Okay, rant over. So, how’s your day Oppo? Anybody want a Miata?

A snippet of issues I had selling my wife’s car:
- “I have four kids” I don’t care.
- “My wife wants a nice car” You must not love your wife because this is a one thousand dollar car
- “My friend is coming with the cash”
- “I’ll call you as soon as I get the cash”
- “Dont waste my time” Said the guy who came with no cash
- “I’ll meet you at X” Does not show up.
- “What are you hiding?” In response to a photo of the car with my rosebush blocking part of the fender
- “Hello would you like to donate your car God Bless”
- “I can send you a check in the mail. I’m currently deployed/or something about Jesus”

yeah, I’m trying to sell a bike, and so far I’ve had one scammer through Cycle Trader (like yours, someone who is “in the military and deployed” who will paypal me for his “agent” to come pick up) and some craigslist idiot who asked if I wanted to trade for an old Chevy pickup despite my “no trades” statement.

Lol, I’m bitter, I drove 2 hours total only to get calls that “it just sold”, one time from the *just* buyer who literally fucking cackled and said “it’s mine, it’s my Miata”, after picking up and answering the seller’s phone as he walked out of the room. I drove an hour and a half to view another example where he said the “rust wasn’t that bad”, and when I get there it’s not only through the body behind the doors, but rusted completely through, and through the frame....

Eventually it gets to the point where you’re like “screw it, clearly fate is opposed and steering me another direction, I’m not supposed to get a Miata/Cherokee right now...”
I would recommend relisting it for $1K more— you may be below people’s range... I was looking at Miatas priced from $750 to $2500, but that gave me a lot of listings to filter through, so some people set a lower limit that eliminates those, but weeds out some good listings. Pulled that trick trying to sell my mom’s antique furniture, she had it listed at $150 with no legit replies, I relisted it at $400 and she sold it for $250 the next day.

I just got a text from one of these people. My response? “I’m already considering an offer of $6000 more by a Nigerian prince. If you can beat that, I will consider your offer instead”
Not really sure where I’m going to take this if the scammer responds...

A friend of mine was legitimately believing one of those texts for the 2012 Camaro SS with low Kms he’s selling for $22K Canadian...I told him not to trust it at all
I think he was STILL believing it somewhat...
